This project was initiated by an energetic couple who enjoy cooking and entertaining. The former cramped kitchen was doubled in size to accommodate larger appliances, real prep areas, a sunny bay window breakfast nook, and a long comfortable bar counter for just hanging out. The project also included the revamping of the outdoor deck to include a permanent covered barbeque/cooking area, an outdoor dining area accompanied by a fireplace shared with the new kitchen and a low water feature to soften the extents of the large deck. Recycled wood flooring and reclaimed heavy timber beams in the kitchen were prime drivers of the finish palette which remains relatively subdued to showcase these main character elements.
